About this tool

How it works

  1. Paste a planner link

Drop in a lastepochtools planner link (or just the code). Epoch DPS pulls the build straight from lastepochtools' public planner API.

  2. Read the per-skill breakdown

Every skill, sub-skill, and ailment gets its own effective DPS and a full stat breakdown, so you can see exactly what carries the build.

  3. Tune and share

Adjust the assumptions — target, ailment stacks, roll mode, conditional buffs — then share the /b/ link, which opens this build's analysis.

What is Epoch DPS?

Epoch DPS is a free, per-skill damage calculator for Last Epoch. Paste a lastepochtools planner link and it breaks the build down skill by skill, showing what each one does against a target rather than a single sheet number.

Sheet DPS is the naive hit-times-attack-speed-times-crit figure. Effective DPS accounts for what actually lands over time: ailment stacks, damage-over-time, minions, transforms, echoes, hit chance, and the target's defences. For most builds the two are a long way apart, and the gap is usually where the build lives.

This is an alpha. The numbers are estimates meant for comparing builds and finding what scales, not exact in-game readouts. Expect rough edges, and check the assumptions panel for anything the engine hasn't modelled yet.

FAQ

How accurate are the numbers?

It's an alpha. The engine aims to land within a few percent of what lastepochtools' own offence tab reports for global stats, but per-skill effective DPS is a model, not a measurement. Treat every figure as an estimate for comparing builds and finding what scales — not a guaranteed in-game readout.

Why are my numbers higher than lastepochtools?

By default Epoch DPS rolls every affix and implicit to its maximum — the build ceiling — so it usually sits above lastepochtools, which shows the average of each roll range for planner builds. Switch the roll mode to Average to compare like for like.

Which game version does the calculator use?

The version in the badge at the top of the page: currently lastepochtools' 1.5.0 game data, mirrored on October 7, 2026. The calculator re-reads lastepochtools' data within a night of it changing, and the new data goes live with the next site update. Every build is computed with that one data set — a build saved under an older game version is computed as it would play on the current data, the result says so, and any node or item that no longer exists is listed in the assumptions ledger.

Where is my build history stored?

In your browser only (localStorage). The History panel keeps your last 10 analyzed builds — spec, DPS at your last visit, build code — so you can reopen them. The list is not uploaded or tied to an account; clearing your browser data or using "Clear history" removes it.

What does it actually model?

Direct skills, sub-skills (cast-on-hit and procs), ailments and damage-over-time, minions and their own skills, player transforms such as Werebear and Swarmblade, and echo repeats. Scaling from stats, tags, tree nodes, idols, affixes, uniques, and conditional buffs is folded into each skill's breakdown. Some mechanics still aren't modelled — those are flagged in the assumptions panel.

How does sharing work?

Every analysed build gets a stable link at /b/<code>, where the code is the lastepochtools planner code. Send that link and whoever opens it sees the same per-skill breakdown. No account needed.

Is it free?

Yes — free, no ads, no account, no paywall. It's a community tool built by a Last Epoch player for other players.

Is this affiliated with Last Epoch or lastepochtools?

No. Epoch DPS is an independent, unofficial tool. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to Eleventh Hour Games (the makers of Last Epoch) or lastepochtools.com. Build data is fetched from lastepochtools' public planner API; all trademarks belong to their respective owners.

Changelog
October 10, 2026
  • "Chance to cast Fire Aura on Crit" lines now share one limit of 3 casts per second instead of 3 each
  • Fire Aura's card now lists the Damage Over Time lines that boost it
  • added Rip Blood's Blood Infusion: minions get its 15% more damage and its attack and cast speed (assumed always up; you can switch it off)
  • fixed Flame Drinker boosting Fire Aura; it now applies only to melee attacks that cost 10 or more mana
  • fixed Skeleton Rogues' "per Warrior or Archer" damage bonus being dropped on builds that remove Archers
October 8, 2026
  • tidier result page: short labels at a glance, explanations a tap away, and assumptions as bullet points
  • the total now says what it assumes (item rolls, buffs and conditions on, non-stop attacking) and warns when your mana can't pay for the rotation
  • plainer labels: "Main skill", what each target is, where your damage comes from, buffs shown with their source
  • every explanation opens with a tap on a phone; changing a setting shows the old and new total
  • "not modelled" count now lists only modifier lines we couldn't read, with a note on what they mean for the number
  • landing page: "Need a link?" help, clearer errors for links that aren't planner builds, examples you can open
  • skills whose damage comes from a proc now show their DPS on a card; removed internal notes and three inaccurate claims from the page text
  • new look: easier-to-read text and numbers, calmer panels, one colour for each kind of state
  • the result comes first: Total DPS and its breakdown sit above the settings, with a summary bar that follows as you scroll
  • modifiers the calculator doesn't model are now one line on the Total DPS that links to the full list; skills that deal no damage fold into one row
  • numbers now read 1.71b, 62.63m, 125.8k
  • added a changelog page; the home page keeps the latest three dates
  • added example builds to try on the home page
  • bad build links and unknown pages now show a proper not-found page with the build box
  • faster, steadier loading: the page no longer jumps while a build loads, and one less font to download
  • tooltips open on tap and stay on screen on phones; bigger tap targets on touch screens
  • keyboard and screen-reader support: one focus ring, labelled input, announced loading and errors
October 7, 2026
  • Shield Throw's "Colossus Stacks Per Hit" line is now recognized — its damage-relevant effect (physical penetration per stack) was already counted at the 20-stack cap, so the line no longer shows as unrecognized
  • cleaned up 130 item, passive and skill lines that showed as unrecognized (non-damage ones are now listed under Assumptions)
  • Smelter's Might and Chaos Flames now apply to minions too
  • added Tyrant's Legion skeleton penetration and Tempest Form shock chance
  • added a History panel — your last 10 analyzed builds (pin, rename, reopen), saved in this browser only
  • crit chance with the "Increased critical strike chance with Shield Throw" affix now matches the game, which counts it double (Shield Throw and its Lava Burst)
  • Void Well now refills as fast as its 4 second cooldown allows when the build gains Void Essences quickly enough
  • Cleric's Hammer and Hand of Aurelus procs now cost what Healing Hands costs after its tree nodes (free with both cost nodes)
  • added Time Loop's mana cost: 60 per extra Erasing Strike echo
  • Jormun's Feast now counts the build's bleed stacks on the target, up to 20 steps
  • Skill levels from gear now follow a skill's tags after its tree changes them (e.g. +1 to Fire Skills reaches Forge Strike with Temper)
  • Brutality: melee attacks now gain its more damage per mana cost (up to 20 mana)
  • Multistrike: Determination no longer counts once Fiery Justice is taken
  • Forge Strike: Goliath Strike now applies to the strike only, not Detonating Ground
  • Multistrike: Path of the Knight now reads your armour instead of assuming the maximum
  • melee skills now use the weapon's base attack rate
  • fixed Forgemaster's Might: less attack and cast speed is a multiplier
  • Shield Throw's Lava Burst now scales with Strength and Dexterity instead of Attunement (verified in testing)
  • Bone Curse's Merciless now gives your minions more physical damage (multiplicative), not increased
  • Weaver Set 2-piece no longer boosts weapon legendary affixes when it is completed by one Reforged affix plus Legends Entwined (1.5 does not apply it)
